Stallion Donations

- If the stallion is sold or dies anytime before the donated obligation is met, the donor of the stallion must immediately notify the NEBTSA.
- If the stallion dies before the donated breeding occurs for the purchaser, and no other comparable stallions are available to the purchaser, NEBTSA will reimburse the purchaser in full for the amount paid.
- If the stallion is sold before obligations are met, the owner of the stallion at the time of donation must make arrangements with the new owners of the stallion to fulfill the obligation to the purchaser.

- The stallion owner will charge the mare owner for all normal care and any other applicable charges. This includes chute fees, in-foal fees, veterinary fees, shipping charges, etc.

Futurity Eligibility
- Three-year-old offspring of stallions donated AND SOLD in that year’s auction will be eligible to enter the Northeast Breeder’s Trust Futurity in that same year.
- For example, the offspring of a stallion donated and sold in the 2026 auction can enter the 2026 futurity. If a stallion was donated and sold in 2025, but not donated in 2026, then 2026 three-year-olds by that sire are not eligible to enter the 2026 futurity.
- A nomination fee of $300.00 can be paid for unsold stallions anytime after the end of the auction up until the close of entries for the futurity. This nomination will make all offspring of that stallion eligible for that year’s futurity. The nomination fee can be split across multiple entries if contestants wish.
- A three-year-old sired by a deceased or non-donated stallion will be eligible to enter the futurity if a one-time nomination fee of $500.00 is paid. This will only apply to the one three-year-old being entered and will not make any other offspring by that stallion eligible.
- All nomination monies will be put towards awards.
Purse Break Down
- 70% of the monies collected at the end of the auction and Buy Now period will go directly into the purse for that year’s Northeast Breeder’s Trust Futurity.
- 20% of the collected monies will be paid out to stallion owners through the Stallion Owner’s Incentive Program. 10% to the stallions of the top five scoring horses in the Open Futurity and 10% to the stallions of the top five scoring horses in the Non Pro Futurity.
- 10% of the collected monies will be designated for operational expenses including but not limited to prizes for that year’s futurity.
- $100 will be paid to stallion owners for each Level 4 Open Northeast Breeder’s Trust Futurity entry by their stallion.
